Removing a White Wine Stain from a Suit

The first step for removing a white wine stain is to blot the stain immediately with paper towel or an old cloth. This will help prevent the stain from spreading and penetrating into the fabric further.

After that, mix together a solution of mild detergent and lukewarm water. Apply the solution directly onto the stain, and gently rub the cloth or paper towel over the fabric to remove the stain, as well as any excess liquid. Then rinse off any soap residue with clean water, then pat dry with a towel.

If that hasn't removed the stain completely, try spritzing a bit of rubbing alcohol or vodka onto the area, then blotting. If the stain proves stubborn, leave it to soak overnight in oxygen bleach.

Once the stain has been completely removed, press the suit with a dry cloth or use a steamer to remove any remaining moisture.

Preventing White Wine Stains

The best way to avoid having to deal with pesky white wine stains is to take precautions to avoid them in first place. When wearing your suit, always carry a napkin or handkerchief to mop up any spillages that could potentially stain the material.

It's also a good idea to wear lighter colours, as bright coloured suits can draw more attention to stains.
