Removing a White Wine Stain from Silk Faille

  • Mix together a solution of 1 part hydrogen peroxide and 3 parts cold water.
  • Soak a cloth in the solution and blot it onto the stained area until it has soaked up any excess liquid.
  • Allow the solution to set for about 15 minutes.
  • Using clean water, rinse the area well to remove any residual solution.
  • Gently scrub the stain with a soft toothbrush or brush in one direction only.
  • Rinse the area again with warm water and leave the fabric to dry naturally.

What if the Stain is Still There?

If your stain seems to be stubbornly clinging to your silk faille fabric, try this method:

  • Mix together a solution of 1 tablespoon of dishwashing detergent, 1 tablespoon of white vinegar, and 2 cups of cold water.
  • Soak a cloth in the solution and dab it over the stained area as before.
  • Cover the area with a piece of absorbent paper towel.
  • Using an iron, press the paper towel onto the stained area. Be careful not to let the iron touch the fabric directly as this could cause damage.
  • Repeat this process until the paper towel doesn’t absorb any more liquid.
  • Rinse the area with clean water and leave fabric to dry naturally.
