The first step to try when removing white wine stains from silk chiffon is to flush stained area with cold water. Blot the fabric gently with a cloth or paper towel to help loosen the wine. Once done, mix a solution of warm water and laundry detergent and lightly dab stain with this mixture. Be careful not to rub the stain, as this may cause further damage to the delicate fabric.
If the water and detergent combination fails to shift the stain, it may be time to reach for the vinegar. Mix one part white vinegar to two parts warm water and lightly dab the stain with a cloth soaked in the solution. Again, take care not to rub the stain and be sure to rinse the vinegar off thoroughly afterwards.
If all else fails, it's time to try a specialised enzyme cleaner. These are specially formulated to break down proteins such as those found in wine, making them highly effective at removing white wine stains from silk chiffon clothing. Simply follow the instructions on the label and hopefully the stain will soon be gone.
