White wine spills can be embarrassing, especially if it happens at a party or other social gathering. Take heart, however, because with the right approach, even toughest stains can be removed.

What You’ll Need

  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Warm water
  • Lint-free towel or cloth

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Start by blotting stained area as quickly as possible. Using a dry lint-free cloth or towel, press down on the stain gently without rubbing. This will help absorb excess liquid, making it easier to remove the stain.

Step 2: Mix a Cleaning Solution

Mix one teaspoon of white vinegar with one tablespoon of baking soda and one cup of warm water. Stir until the baking soda has dissolved completely.

Step 3: Apply Mixture

Using the lint-free cloth or towel, apply the mixture directly onto the stained area. Rub gently in a circular motion, being careful not to rub too hard.

Step 4: Rinse With Warm Water

Rinse area with warm water, ensuring that all traces of the mixture are fully removed.

Step 5: Dry and Inspect

Dry the area using a fresh lint-free cloth or towel. Once completely dry, inspect to see if the stain is still visible. If the stain is still visible, repeat the steps until it has been completely removed.
