How to Easily Remove White Wine Stains from a Shift Dress

From accidental spills at parties to intentional sips during celebrations, white wine stains on clothing can be difficult to remove. But don't stress. With a few household materials and simple steps, you can easily remove white wine stains from your favorite shift dress!

What You'll Need

  • White vinegar
  • Liquid dish soap
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Laundry detergent
  • Old toothbrush
  • Clean white cloth

Instructions:

  1. Gently blot the wine stain with a clean cloth or paper towel.
  2. Mix one tablespoon of white vinegar with one tablespoon of liquid dish soap. Apply a small amount to the stain.
  3. Using a soft-bristled toothbrush, gently massage the mixture onto the stain.
  4. Rinse the stained area and repeat steps 2 and 3 until stain has lightened.
  5. Run some cold water over the stain and sprinkle a few drops of hydrogen peroxide. Gently massage hydrogen peroxide into the stain.
  6. Add laundry detergent to the stain and massage with a toothbrush.
  7. Put the shift dress in washing machine with a cold water cycle.
  8. Once the cycle is complete, check to see if there are any remaining stains. If so, repeat steps 2 through 7.
