What You Need
- Borax
- White vinegar
- Stain-removing laundry detergent
- Hydrogen peroxide
Steps For Removing Stain
- Start by soaking the stained area with cold water as soon as possible.
- Mix one tablespoon of borax with one cup of warm water until dissolved. Apply solution to stained area and allow it to sit for 15-20 minutes.
- Apply a few drops of white vinegar directly to the stain and gently rub.
- Lather on some laundry detergent meant for stubborn stains and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
- Soak the sarong in a sink or washing machine filled with warm water and laundry detergent.
- Rinse the fabric with cold water and inspect the stain - if needed, repeat the process.
- If the stain persists, less ½ cup of hydrogen peroxide with 1 quart of cold water and soak fabric for 15 minutes.
- Once done, rinse the fabric with cold water and let it air dry.
Preventative Tips
- Act fast when it comes to spills — the sooner you act, the better.
- Always check labels on clothing before applying any type of solution.
- Let garments dry fully before wearing.
