When you first notice white wine stain, use a dry paper towel or cotton cloth to blot up as much of the liquid as possible. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing, since this could spread the stain more. Make sure to start from the edges and work your way inwards.
After you’ve blotted up the liquid, hold your raincoat under cold running water. You may need to use a cloth or sponge to help agitate the stain and increase effectiveness. Keep rinsing until you no longer can feel any residue.
Once the excess liquid is out of the way, it's time to tackle the rest of the stain. Apply either white vinegar or liquid laundry detergent directly onto the spot and massage gently into the fabric. Let the solution sit for about 10 minutes before rinsing again with cold water.
If the stain persists after the above steps, repeat them until it is fully gone. Then machine wash your raincoat using appropriate laundry product for its fabric. Always check care label for recommended instructions.
