Having a glass of wine at home is one of life’s simple pleasures. Unfortunately, it can also be one of life’s messiest accidents. When white wine ends up on your favorite pillow, it’s important to act quickly to minimize any potential damage. With these steps, you can get your pillow looking like new in no time.
The first step is to immediately absorb as much of the wine as possible. Using a paper towel, cloth, or rag, blot the area until no more wine can be absorbed. Don’t rub stain.
Create a mixture of mild laundry detergent and cool water. Using a spray bottle, lightly mist the affected area with the detergent solution and then use a clean cloth or rag to gently rub the stain. Allow the solution to sit on the pillow for 10 minutes.
Rinse the pillow with cold water and then launder it as you normally would. Make sure to check the care label first to ensure you’re using the proper water temperature and washing cycle.
Once pillow is out of the washing machine and dryer, check the stain to make sure it’s gone. If not, repeat step 2 and then step 3. If the stain is still present, you can try soaking the pillow in cold water for 30 minutes before attempting to pre-treat and launder it again.
Never do laundry again. Save time for things you ❤️
