Materials Needed
- White vinegar or lemon juice
- Cold water
- A sponge
- Dishwashing liquid
- Cotton balls
Instructions
- As soon as possible, soak up as much of the spilled wine as you can with a cloth or paper towels.
- Mix equal parts water and white vinegar or lemon juice in a bowl.
- Dab the stained area with a sponge soaked in mix, careful not to rub the fabric too hard.
- Rinse the area with cold water.
- If the stain remains, repeat, but this time use a small amount of mild dishwashing liquid instead of vinegar/lemon juice.
- Gently blot the stain with a sponge soaked in soapy solution, working from the outside inwards.
- Rinse the area again with cold water.
- If stain is still visible, try using a cotton ball saturated with rubbing alcohol and dab the stain until it fades.
- Finally, rinse the area and let it dry.
Your Oxford fabric should now be free of any unsightly white wine stains.
