First thing's first, get the excess wine out of your mohair fabric. Gently blot area with a damp cloth or paper towel, but be sure not to rub it too hard. Rubbing will cause the stain to spread and become more difficult to remove.
Once you've gotten as much of the excess wine out as you can, pre-treat the stain with a laundry pre-treatment product. As mohair is a delicate fabric, be sure to choose a product that is specifically designed for use on delicates.
Next, put your stained mohair fabric in a delicates bag and wash it in cold water with a mild detergent. Be sure to check the fabric after washing to see if the stain is still present. If it is, repeat steps 2 and 3 before drying.
If stain remains after washing, mix a solution of one part white vinegar and two parts water. Using a clean cloth, gently dab the stain with the vinegar solution. Allow the vinegar to sit on the fabric for several minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.
Finally, rinse the fabric with cold water and allow it to air dry. Once the fabric is dry, inspect it to make sure that the stain is gone. If it is, enjoy your newly restored mohair fabric!
