What You'll Need

  • White vinegar
  • Cold water
  • Dish soap
  • Cleaning cloths

Instructions

  1. Test the fabric: Before cleaning, check label inside your linen item to determine what type of fabric it is made of. This will help you decide which stain removal method is best.
  2. Soak fabric: For cotton, polyester or rayon fabrics, soak the stain for about 15 minutes in a solution of cold water and white vinegar. For silk or wool fabric, skip this step and proceed to step 3.
  3. Apply dish soap: Apply a small amount of dish soap directly to stain and gently rub it with a cloth. Once the stain has been treated, rinse spot with cold water.
  4. Launder the fabric: After the stain has been treated, machine wash your linen item as usual, using cold water and a mild detergent.

Additional Tips

  • For stubborn stains, you may need to repeat steps 2 and 3 multiple times.
  • When laundering, avoid the use of bleach or any other product that could cause discolouration.
  • Avoid using hot water, as heat can set stain.
