Method 1: Use a Cleaning Solution

  • Mix equal parts water and vinegar in a bowl.
  • Dab a cloth in the solution and use it to blot stain on leather.
  • Keep dabbing until stain is removed.
  • Repeat if needed.

Method 2: Use Detergent and Water

  • Mix a teaspoon of mild dishwashing detergent with a cup of warm water.
  • Dip a cloth in the mixture and wring it out.
  • Gently rub the affected area of the leather, going with grain.
  • Rinse the cloth in clean water and use it to remove any remaining detergent residue.
  • Let the leather air dry.

Method 3: Use Nail Polish Remover

  • Put a small amount of clear nail polish remover onto a cotton ball. Make sure that you select one that doesn't contain acetone.
  • Test it in an inconspicuous area of leather first. If the leather's color doesn't change, proceed with the cleaning.
  • Gently dab the stained area with the cotton ball, going with the grain.
  • Rinse the area with a damp cloth and let it air dry.
