When hosting an outdoor party, accidents with white wine can lead to stains that can ruin the look of your lawn. Fortunately, you don't have to live with these stains forever. Here are five steps you can take to get rid of those pesky white wine stains.

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Immediately after discovering stain, use a cloth to blot the spot and soak up as much of the liquid as possible. Make sure to use a cloth that is absorbent and colorfast. Do not rub the area, as this will only spread stain further.

Step 2: Mix a Detergent Solution

Mix a mild detergent solution with water in a bucket or spray bottle. For a bucket, combine approximately 3 tablespoons of mild detergent per gallon of warm water. For a spray bottle, combine one teaspoon of mild detergent per cup of warm water. Make sure to mix the ingredients thoroughly.

Step 3: Apply Detergent Solution

Apply detergent solution directly to the stained area. Time is of the essence here, as the sooner you can apply the solution the better. Make sure you saturate the area evenly to ensure the cleaning agents can do their job.

Step 4: Rinse and Repeat

Once the detergent solution has been applied, rinse with lukewarm water. Repeating this step several times may be necessary to ensure the stain has been removed. If the stain has still not been eliminated, prepare a new solution and repeat steps 3 and 4.

Step 5: Let Dry

Once you’re satisfied the stain has been removed, let area dry in the sun. This should help prevent any mold or mildew from forming.

By following the steps outlined above, you should be able to easily remove white wine stains from your lawn.
