If you find yourself with a white wine stain on your Hermes, the first thing to do is to act quickly. White wine can be tricky to remove and will quickly set into the fabric if not treated properly. Here are some tried-and-true methods to remove white wine stains from Hermes:

Method 1: Blot, Don’t Rub

The first instinct when dealing with a stain is to rub it out. However, this can actually make the stain worse and spread it around. To properly address a white wine stain, start by taking a clean, dry cloth and gently blotting the stain. Be sure not to press too hard on the fabric, as this could further damage the material.

Method 2: Pretreat With Vinegar

Once you have blotted the area with a dry cloth, the next step is to pretreat the stain before laundering. Fill a bucket or sink with lukewarm water and add ½ cup of white vinegar. Soak the stained area in the solution for 30 minutes. The vinegar helps to break down proteins in the wine, making it easier to remove during the washing process.

Method 3: Use Cold Water and Hand Detergent

After the pretreatment in vinegar and water, rinse the area with cold water. Then, apply a bit of mild liquid hand detergent to affected area and let it sit for about 10 minutes. When done, rub or blot the area gently with a cloth, but be careful not to rub too hard so as not to damage the material.

Method 4: Air Dry

Finally, air dry the cleaned area. Do not dry it with a dryer or allow it to get too hot, as heat can cause stain to set in more.

These methods should help you successfully remove a white wine stain from your Hermes without any damage. For more information on how to care for and clean your Hermes, please contact Hermes customer service.
