What You Need

  • White Vinegar
  • Baking Soda
  • Dishwashing Liquid
  • Clean Towels

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Take the soiled item of clothing and blot the stain with a clean cloth to absorb as much of the liquid as possible.
  2. Mix equal parts white vinegar and dishwashing liquid in a bowl.
  3. Add a teaspoon of baking soda to the mixture.
  4. Using a clean cloth, gently rub the mixture onto the stained area.
  5. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes.
  6. Rinse the area with cold water.
  7. Repeat steps as needed until the stain is gone.

Additional Tips

  • If the stain is still present after the first attempt, try using a little bit of bleach on the spot. This should only be attempted on white gingham.
  • It's best to attempt to remove the stain as soon as possible. If the stain has had time to set, removal process will be more difficult.
  • It's always recommended that you test any cleaning agent in an inconspicuous spot on the garment before proceeding.
