Step 1: Blot with a Clean Cloth

If you are lucky, the white wine stain may still be wet. Quickly grab a clean cloth and put it directly over affected area. Pat or blot the area gently so as to absorb some of the liquid. Do not rub the fabric as this will damage it and make stain worse.

Step 2: Make a Solution Mix

Start by creating a cleaning solution. You'll need half a teaspoon of dishwashing detergent and one cup of cold water. Mix these together, stirring gently until the detergent is completely dissolved. Make sure you don't use hot water as it could set the stain.

Step 3: Blot the Stain

Take a clean cloth and dip it into your solution mix. Be sure to wring out any excess moisture so that you do not accidentally spread the stain. Then blot stain with the damp cloth, lifting affected area and moving it gently in a circular motion.

Step 4: Rinse and Repeat

After you have blotted the stain, rinse the area off with clean water. If stain is still visible, repeat the process as many times as necessary until it has been removed. After every cleaning session, be sure to rinse the area with clean water.
