What You’ll Need

  • White vinegar
  • Cold water
  • Clean cloth
  • Dish soap

Step 1: Soak the Stain

To start, create a mixture of one part white vinegar and two parts cold water. Soak the stained area of your fleece with this solution, being careful not to rub. Allow the fabric to sit for 10 minutes before going on to the next step.

Step 2: Rinse the Fabric

After the 10 minutes have passed, rinse the fleece with cold water. Be sure to remove any remaining residue created by the vinegar solution.

Step 3: Add Dish Soap

Nearly there! Once the fabric has been rinsed, add a few drops of mild dish soap to the area. Then, use the cloth to gently rub the area in a circular motion.

Step 4: Rinse Again

Rinse the fleece for a second time with cold water, being sure to remove any left-over dish soap.

Step 5: Hang to Dry

Finally, hang the fleece up to air dry. Your favorite cozy sweater is now free of wine stains and ready to wear!
