Step 1: Blot the Stain Immediately

When you notice the white wine stain, act quickly! Use a dry, clean cloth to blot up as much of the liquid as possible. Don't rub or scrub the stain -- this may spread the liquid further and make it harder to remove.

Step 2: Pretreat Stain

Wet the area of the stain with cold water and then use a stain remover specifically designed for wine. Allow the stain remover to sit on the stain for 10-15 minutes before washing.

Step 3: Wash the Gown

Once the stain remover has been given time to work, wash the gown in cold water on a gentle cycle. To be extra safe, use a detergent specifically designed for delicate fabrics. Always hang your evening gown to dry instead of using a tumble dryer.
