The first thing you should know is that white wine stains are easier to remove than other colored wine stains, as they are not as deeply absorbed into the fibers as red or dark wines. So if you spot one, you should take action straight away! Here are a few methods to help you clean up the spill from your double georgette garment:

  • Apply a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water directly onto stain. Allow mixture to set for about 10 minutes before using a cloth to blot up the liquid.
  • If the vinegar doesn’t work, try a less acidic solution, such as baking soda and water. Rub the baking soda into fabric, then let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes, rinse and repeat until the stain is gone.
  • Mix 1 tablespoon of laundry detergent and ½ cup of hydrogen peroxide in a bowl. Apply the mixture directly to the stained area and scrub gently with a soft, damp cloth. Rinse and repeat as needed.
  • For particularly stubborn stains, use a product specifically designed to remove wine, such as Wine Away Stain Remover. Follow the instructions on the package and test in an inconspicuous area first.
  • After the stain is removed, launder the garment according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Check stain before drying, to ensure it is completely gone. If not, repeat the process.

Now you're armed with the knowledge to tackle any white wine Stain on your double georgette clothing!
