White wine can be especially tricky when it comes to removing stains from cutting boards. Whether you use plastic or wooden cutting boards, most important thing is to act fast to make sure stains don't have time to set in.
The first thing you want to do when dealing with a white wine stain is to blot the area with a cloth or paper towel. This will help to absorb as much of the liquid as possible before it has a chance to seep into the material of the cutting board. Do not rub the stain; this could cause smearing and spreading.
Next, mix a few drops of dish soap with a tablespoon of baking soda. You will want to stir the mixture until it creates a thick paste. Apply the paste evenly over the stained area, using small circular motions to work it into the surface of the cutting board.
Allow the paste to sit for a few minutes so that it has time to start working on the stain. The longer you leave it, the more likely it is that the stain will dissolve.
Once the paste has had enough time to do its job, take a damp cloth and wipe away the paste. Be sure to go in the same direction that you used to apply the paste in order to avoid smearing the stain.
Finally, use a clean, damp cloth to rinse away any lingering residue and dry the board with a separate dry cloth or paper towel. Your cutting board should now be stain-free, clean and ready for use!
