No matter how careful you are, you may end up with white wine stains on your favourite crepe dress. Though these white wine stains look difficult to remove, there are actually plenty of handy home remedies you can use to get rid of them. Here is a step-by-step guide for effectively removing white wine stains from crepe.
The most effective way to tackle any stain is to act quickly. As soon as the stain appears, blot it with a paper towel to absorb as much of the liquid as possible. Don’t rub stained area since it will only spread the stain further.
Once you have blotted stain, pre-treat the area with some laundry detergent. Gently rub the stained area with a few drops of detergent and let it sit for a few minutes. This will help loosen the stain for easy removal.
Next, soak the stained area with white vinegar for about 30 minutes. The acetic acid present in vinegar helps to break down and dissolve the wine stain. You may need to repeat this a few times to completely remove the stain.
After soaking the fabric in vinegar, rinse it with water to remove any residual detergent or vinegar. Don’t use hot water as this could set the stain further into the fabric.
Finally, launder the fabric according to its care instructions. Make sure to use a gentle detergent and a mild wash cycle. After washing, air-dry fabric and check to see if the stain is still present. If so, repeat the above steps until the stain is gone.
Never do laundry again. Save time for things you ❤️
