One of the most stubborn stains out there is a white wine stain. The acidity of wine can leave a difficult-to-remove mark on clothing, especially when it comes to heavier fabric like coveralls. So how do you get rid of these annoying bumps? With the right technique, you can quickly and efficiently remove white wine stains from coveralls.
Begin by using a clean cloth to blot the stain as much as possible. Don’t rub at stain as this will only push it deeper into the fabric. Trying to remove stain before the liquid seeps into the fibers is your best bet. If you can return the coveralls to store or manufacturer for repairs, try doing so as soon as possible.
Once you’ve blotted the excess liquid from the stain, you can move on to pretreating it. Mix one teaspoon of detergent with two cups of cold water in a bowl. Use a clean cloth to gently dab at the stain with solution. Let it sit for five to ten minutes. Then, using another clean cloth, gently dab at the area to remove solution. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing at the stain.
Once you’ve pretreated the stain, rinse it with cold water. This will help remove any remaining detergent residue. Use a fresh cloth dampened with cold water and dab at area until you can no longer see the solution.
After you’ve cleaned and rinsed the area, put coveralls in the washing machine as usual. Be sure to use the appropriate detergent and cycle settings based on the care instructions. Once the wash cycle is finished, check the coveralls to make sure that the stain has been removed. If not, repeat the above steps.
The final step is to air dry the coveralls. This will ensure that the stain won’t set in. Hang the coveralls in a well-ventilated area and allow them to air dry completely.
By following above steps, you can easily remove white wine stains from coveralls. With right techniques and materials, you can keep your coveralls looking new.
