What You'll Need
- White wine vinegar
- Stain remover
- Cotton cloth
- Warm water
- Borax (optional)
Step by Step Guide to Removing Stain
- Mix ¼ cup of white wine vinegar with a gallon of warm water.
- Dip the stained area into the vinegar solution and let it soak for at least 10 minutes. This will help to loosen up the stain.
- Wring out any excess liquid and then dab stained area with a cotton cloth or paper towel. Do not rub stain as this will only make it worse.
- Apply a store-bought stain remover to the affected area and let it sit for at least 10 minutes.
- If the stain persists, mix 1 tablespoon of Borax with 1 cup of warm water and dab the mixture onto stain. Let it sit for another 10 minutes before wiping away.
- Rinse the area with warm water and blot dry with a clean cloth.
Preventative Tips
- Always carry white wine vinegar with you in case of an emergency.
- Keep a spray bottle of white wine vinegar in kitchen to use on stains right away.
- When possible, use bibs or other types of covers on clothing to prevent spills.
