5 Simple Steps to Get White Wine Stains Out of Cotton Poplin

Step 1: Blot Stain

Start by blotting the stain with a clean cloth or paper towel. This will help to absorb any excess liquid and stop the stain from spreading. Don't rub the fabric, as this may cause the stain to set.

Step 2: Mix a Cleaning Solution

Mix one teaspoon of laundry detergent or dishwashing liquid into two cups of cool water. You can also add a few drops of white vinegar to the solution for extra cleaning power.

Step 3: Soak the Stain

Soak a clean cloth in the cleaning solution and place it over the stain. Allow it to sit for 15-20 minutes, then rinse the fabric with cool water.

Step 4: Pretreat Stain

After rinsing the fabric, pretreat stain with a stain remover. Follow instructions on the product's packaging and allow the stain remover to sit for at least 10 minutes before rinsing again.

Step 5: Wash and Dry

Throw fabric in the washing machine with your regular detergent. Select the appropriate cycle for your item and wash as normal. Once complete, tumble dry the fabric on the lowest heat setting to avoid further staining.
