To begin, use a clean cloth to dab up as much of the wine as possible. Blot the stain, don't rub it in; this helps to keep it from setting further into the fabric.

Next, put the garment in a sink full of cold water and let it soak for at least ten minutes. This loosens the fibers and helps remove the stain. After soaking, scrub area gently with a soft toothbrush or a cloth and mild detergent.

Still have a stain? No worries! You can try gently brushing the area with a mixture of equal parts of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Let it sit for fifteen minutes then rinse completely. This should get rid of the stain.

For additional help, check the instructions on the tag on the garment. It may recommend you take the item to a professional cleaner.

Can I use other household items to tackle white wine stains?

Yes, you can use white vinegar, club soda, lemon juice, and salt to tackle white wine stains. Simply mix any of these ingredients with water and apply to the stained area. You may need to repeat the process a few times for best results.
