Follow the steps below to get your cotton oxford back in action:
- Scrape the Stain: Use a blunt knife or spoon to carefully scrape away any residue that has dried into the fabric. Don’t press too hard, otherwise you can break the fabric.
- Soak the Stain: Make a mixture of cool water and a small amount of laundry detergent or dishwashing liquid in a bucket. Submerge the stained portion of the oxford uniform in the soapy water and let it sit for an hour.
- Rinse with White Vinegar: Rinse fabric with white vinegar and cold water. This helps to neutralize acidity of the wine, making the stain easier to lift when washing.
- Wash as Normal: After rinsing with vinegar, wash the oxford uniform as normal. Tumble dry on lowest heat setting and inspect for any remaining stains.
By following these steps, you can restore your ivory-coloured oxford garment back to its original whitened state in no time!
