The first step to removing a white wine stain is to quickly blot the area with a paper towel or clean absorbent cloth. This will help remove any excess liquid and prevent the stain from spreading.
Once you’ve blotted area, it’s time to apply a detergent directly onto the stain. Make sure to use a gentle detergent that is designed for delicates. If possible, let the detergent sit on the stain for 10-15 minutes before gently rubbing it in with a soft cloth.
Once you’ve applied the detergent, rinse the area with cold water. The cold water will help remove any residual detergent and help break apart the stain particles.
After rinsing area, place the garment in a washing machine with cold water. Mild detergent can be added, but it's important to avoid using too much as this can set the stain further. Allow the item to agitate in the machine for 10 minutes before letting it finish its cycle.
After washing the garment, hang it up to dry. Avoid placing the item in the dryer as this can cause the stain to set further. Instead, allow the item to air dry which will help ensure the stain has been completely removed.
Once the garment has dried, inspect the area to see if stain has been completely removed. If the stain is still visible, repeat Steps 1-5 until the stain has been completely removed.
Removing a white wine stain from a charmeuse fabric doesn’t have to be a daunting task. By following steps above, you can easily remove tough wine stains without damaging the fabric. Just remember to be patient and take your time when working on the stain.
