If you’ve ever had the misfortune of spilling white wine on your favorite white camisole, you know how quickly it can become stained. The good news is, however, that removing white wine stains from a white camisole is not as difficult as it may seem.

Step 1: Blot Stained Area

The first step in removing a white wine stain from a white camisole is to blot the area with a piece of cloth or paper towel. Make sure to use a soft cloth or paper towel, as a rough one may cause further damage to the fabric and spread the stain rather than absorb it.

Step 2: Use a Non-Bleach Detergent

The next step is to use a mild non-bleach detergent to treat the stained area. Fill a sink or bowl with lukewarm water, and add a few drops of the mild detergent. Place the stained portion of the clothing into the soapy water and let it soak for 15 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.

Step 3: Use Vinegar

If the stain persists, try using a mixture of vinegar and water on the clothing. Mix one part vinegar with two parts water, and apply the solution to the stained area using a sponge or cloth. Rub gently in a circular motion, and then rinse thoroughly with cold water.

Step 4: Use Baking Soda or Salt

Another option for treating a white wine stain is to mix two tablespoons of baking soda or salt with one quart of warm water. Apply mixture to the stained area, and let it sit for 30 minutes before rinsing with cold water.

Step 5: Use Hydrogen Peroxide

If all else fails, try using hydrogen peroxide on the stained area. Make sure hydrogen peroxide is heavily diluted with water (20 parts water to one part hydrogen peroxide) and apply it to the stained area with a cloth or sponge. Rinse thoroughly with cold water after 10 minutes.

Conclusion

Although it may take some time, it is possible to remove white wine stains from a white camisole. Remember to always test cleaning agents on an inconspicuous area of the fabric first, and be gentle when scrubbing and blotting the stained area.
