As soon as you notice a white wine stain on your fabric, grab a towel or cloth and dab it immediately. This will help to absorb the wine before the stain has a chance to set in. Be sure not to rub the stain. Doing so can spread the stain and make it harder to remove when you begin the cleaning process.
Fill a bucket or sink with cold water and add a mild detergent. Submerge stained area of fabric and let it soak for several minutes. After soak, rinse the area with fresh water. Repeat this process until the stain is no longer visible.
If stain is still there after soak, try applying a mixture of white vinegar and water to the area. Let the mixture sit for about 15 minutes, then blot it away with a damp cloth or sponge. This vinegar and water mixture can also be used on colored fabrics, although you may want to do a patch test first.
If the stain is still not gone, try using a grease-fighting dishwasher detergent on the area. Apply a few drops of detergent directly onto the fabric and let it sit for 15-20 minutes before blotting it with a damp cloth. You can also use this detergent on colored fabrics, but again, it’s best to do a patch test before treating entire area.
For more stubborn stains, try treating the area with a mixture of detergent and hydrogen peroxide. Apply the mixture directly onto the fabric and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then, rinse area with cold water and blot it dry with a clean cloth. Repeat this process until the stain is gone.
With a little bit of patience and the right materials, you can easily remove white wine stains from your clothes or furniture. Just remember to act quickly and follow the steps outlined above. Good luck!
