White wine stains on clothing can unfortunately be quite visible, and if you're not careful, can become permanent and ruin garment. As blazers are usually made from delicate fabrics, the best way to get white wine stains out of them is to act quickly before they've had time to set in.
What You Need:
- Cold water
- White vinegar
- Dish soap
- Absorbent cloth
Step-by-Step Guide:
- Start by diluting the stain with cold water. Dip an absorbent cloth in cold water and gently dab the affected area. Do not rub or scrub the garment, as this will only force the stain in deeper.
- Mix equal parts white vinegar and dish soap in a small bowl. Apply the mixture to the stained area and leave for 10 minutes.
- Rinse the stained area with cold water. If the stain has lightened, apply the vinegar and dish soap mixture again and leave for another 10 minutes.
- When you’re happy that the stain has been removed, rinse the blazer with cold water and hang it up to air dry.
Maintenance Tips:
- Always check the label of your blazer for the manufacturer’s instructions prior to attempting to remove any stains.
- To prevent further staining, don't apply heat to a stained blazer.
- If a stain persists, take the blazer to a professional dry cleaner.
