To begin, use an absorbent paper towel or cloth to blot the area affected by the white wine. This will help to immediately lift the liquid off the surface and prevent it from seeping deeper into the fibers of your belt.
Fill a bucket with warm water, and add a gentle detergent, such as a shampoo designed for delicate fabrics. Immerse your belt in the mixture, and let it soak for about 30 minutes. Afterward, remove your belt from the bucket and wash it with a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
After your belt is clean, lay it flat on an absorbent towel to let it air dry. Once it’s completely dry, apply a stain remover specifically designed for light-colored fabrics. Let the remover sit for several minutes before blotting it up with a dry cloth. Then, check to see if the stain has been removed.
