How to Easily Remove White Wine Stains from Battenberg Lace

What You’ll Need

  • Oxygen-based bleach (such as OxiClean or Clorox 2)
  • Water
  • A small, clean bowl
  • A soft, wet cloth
  • Mild laundry detergent (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix 1 tablespoon of oxygen-based bleach to 2 cups of water in a small bowl.
  2. Dab the stain with the wet cloth. Do not rub the stain, as this could damage the fabric.
  3. Soak the cloth in the solution for about five minutes, then wring it out until it is damp.
  4. Gently blot stain with the soaked cloth. Do not rub or scrub, as this could cause damage to the lace.
  5. Continue to dab the cloth over the stain until it begins to fade. You may need to apply more of solution to the cloth if it dries out.
  6. If the stain persists, mix 1 tablespoon of mild laundry detergent with 2 cups of water, and repeat steps #3 to #5.
  7. Allow the stained area to air dry. Once it is completely dry, check that the stain has been removed.
