What You'll Need:

  • White Vinegar
  • Baking Soda
  • A Toothbrush
  • Liquid Detergent
  • Cold Water

Step 1: Blot the Stain

The most important part of getting rid of a white wine stain is to act quickly. As soon as you notice the stain, use a cloth or paper towel to blot up as much of the liquid as possible. Don't rub or scrub the stain; this will only cause it to spread and set deeper into the fabric.

Step 2: Make a Paste

Mix a paste of equal parts baking soda and white vinegar and apply it to the stain. Use a toothbrush to lightly scrub the paste into fabric and let it sit for 30 minutes. This will help lift the stain from fabric.

Step 3: Soak the Fabric

Fill a basin with cold water and add a few drops of liquid detergent. Submerge the fabric with the stain in mixture and let it sit for 15 minutes. This will help to further lift the stain from the fabric.

Step 4: Rinse and Dry

Rinse the fabric with cold water to remove any remaining vinegar or detergent residue. The stain should be gone at this point, but if it’s still visible, repeat steps 2 and 3 before rinsing again. After rinsing, lay the item flat to air dry. Do not put the garment in the dryer until you are completely sure that the stain is gone.

Conclusion

Getting rid of a white wine stain may seem daunting, but it’s actually relatively easy with right cleaning products and techniques. By blotting stain, making a paste, soaking the fabric, and rinsing and drying it, you should be able to easily remove the stain from your Alexander McQueen.
