When vomit spills onto a watch, it can be hard to remove stains. While it may seem tempting to try to rub the stain away, this should be avoided. Doing so could damage the watch's delicate parts, and the stain is likely to return.
Before you get started cleaning, you'll need to take your watch off your wrist. This is important for two reasons. First, removing the watch will give you easier access to all areas of the watch, which will come in handy when you start cleaning. Second, many cleaning agents are corrosive and can damage the watch if left on for too long. So it's crucial that you remove it from your wrist before starting.
Once the watch is off, rinse it with fresh water. This is an important first step to reduce the risk of corrosion and prevent the vomit from staining the watch further. For the best results, use distilled water, as this is free of minerals and other contaminants that may damage your watch.
After rinsing, fill a bowl with one part white vinegar to three parts water. Soak a soft cloth in the mixture, then use it to gently scrub the watch. Be sure to pay extra attention to any stained areas, as the vinegar and water mixture will help to break down any organic materials. Once finished, rinse the watch again with fresh distilled water.
Finally, dry the watch with a soft dry cloth. Pay particular attention to the hands, lugs, and crown to ensure that there is no residual moisture. Then, using a soft dry cloth and some light-grade polish, carefully polish the watch to restore its shine.
