The first step in removing vomit stains from uniforms is to gather right supplies. You need a few essential household items, including:
Once your supplies are ready, you’re ready to start cleaning the vomit off the uniform. Begin by soaking the uniform in the bucket of warm water and mild detergent for at least 30 minutes. This helps loosen the vomit and makes it easier to remove.
After soaking the uniform, take an old toothbrush and begin scrubbing the stain. Make sure to gently scrub the area, as vigorous scrubbing can damage the fabric. If needed, add more detergent or white vinegar to the affected area to help loosen the stain.
Once the vomit has been removed, rinse the uniform in cold water. Once clean, hang the uniform up to air dry. Avoid using high heat from a dryer as this can set the stain.
If there is any lingering smell, treat the area with baking soda. Simply sprinkle a light layer of baking soda on the affected area, leave it on for 5-10 minutes, then vacuum it off. Repeat if needed.
Cleaning vomit stains from uniforms may seem daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. Just remember to gather right supplies, soak the garment, scrub the stain, rinse and air dry, and treat with baking soda if needed. With these simple steps, you can quickly and easily remove vomit stains from uniforms.
