Step 1: Remove Excess Vomit

The first step of dealing with vomit stains is to quickly act and remove as much as possible of the mess. Use a spoon or paper towel to scrap off the excess and then flush it down the toilet. Thicker fabrics, such as thick sweaters and hoodies, may require some additional agitation to get all the excess out.

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain

Before tackling the stain, you should pre-treat it with a detergent or pre-treatment solution. This will help to break down organic matter and draw out the remaining stains. If a pre-treatment is not available, you can use a powder laundry detergent instead. Follow instructions on the product label to mix the detergent with water and then soak the garment for 15 minutes.

Step 3: Launder the Garment

Once garment is pre-treated, it’s time to launder the stained pieces. Wash the pieces on the warmest setting that is safe to use based on the fabric’s care label. It’s important to add ½ cup of white vinegar or lemon juice to rinse cycle to help brighten the fabric and remove any remaining odors.

Step 4: Air Dry

The last step of cleaning vomit stains from Under Armour is to air dry the pieces. Hang them in a spot where they can receive direct sunlight. This acts as a natural whitening agent and helps to reduce any lingering odors.

And now your beloved Under Armour pieces are ready to be rocked around town again!
