Once you notice the vomit stain on your twill fabric, quickly grab a paper towel or cloth and start blotting excess as much as you can, without rubbing it into the fabric. This is to stop the stain from setting in and becoming harder to remove.
If there are any remaining solids from the vomit that refuse to come off, take a gentle detergent like a liquid laundry detergent and mix it with cold water in a bowl or bucket. Make sure that the detergent is colorless and doesn't contain any bleach. Then, using a sponge or soft cloth, apply the detergent mixture onto the stain and start scrubbing gently in a circular motion until the remaining solids are gone.
After pre-treating the stain and removing the vomit solids, take some cold water and rinse off the stain. Now, take a cloth that has been slightly dampened with cold water, and lightly dab the stained area until it is completely clean. Do not rub cloth on fabric as this may damage the material.
At this point, you should wash the twill fabric as usual using a mild detergent. To make sure that the stain has been fully removed, you might want to add a bit of non-chlorine bleach or oxygen bleach to the wash cycle. After wash cycle has finished, let the fabric air dry, ensuring that it does not get direct exposure to sunlight.
Once the fabric has dried, take a look at the area where vomit stain was located and see if any trace remains. If there are any remaining stains, repeat steps 2-4 until they have been completely removed.
Cleaning vomit stains from twill can be a hassle. However, if you follow the steps listed above, you can easily remove them with minimal effort.
