Steps for Cleaning Vomit Stains from a Tie
- As soon as you notice the vomit stain, immediately begin cleaning process. Use the paper towels to dab gently at the area to absorb any excess liquid.
- Create a solution of warm water and dish soap. Dip the cleaning cloth into the mixture and carefully blot the stain.
- If the stain does not come out after blotting with the soapy water, try using white vinegar on the spot as a natural cleaner. Be sure to thoroughly rinse spot with clean water afterwards.
- Next, apply the specialty laundry detergent directly to the affected area and allow it to sit for approximately 10 minutes or until it starts to bubble.
- Using clean water and a cloth, rub the spot in a circular motion. This will help to break up vomit stain and remove it from the fabric.
- If the vomit stain is still visible after cleaning, try treating it with a colored fabric dye to cover it up. Be sure to read the manufacturer’s instructions carefully before applying the dye.
- Once stain is gone, launder the item according to the care label instructions and hang it up to dry.
