- Dish soap or laundry detergent
- Enzyme-based pet odor remover (optional)
How to Clean Vomit Stains from Sweaters
- As soon as the accident occurs, blot away vomit with a paper towel or cloth.
- Run cold water through back side of stain and gently rub the fabric together.
- Mix a solution of one teaspoon of dish soap or laundry detergent in one quart of cold water.
- Soak the stained area in solution for 30 minutes. Do not use hot water, as it could set stain.
- Gently rub the fabric together and rinse it with cold water.
- If the stain remains, apply an enzyme-based pet odor remover, and let it sit for five minutes before rinsing it out.
- Once the stain is completely gone, machine wash the garment with cold water.
