The sooner you can get to vomit stain, the easier it will be to remove. Immediately blot the area with a paper towel or napkin to absorb as much of liquid as possible.
Next, pre-treat the vomit stain with laundry detergent, enzyme cleaner, or a diluted solution of laundry bleach and cool water. Rub the product into the stain with a soft brush or sponge, then let it sit for about 15 minutes before laundering.
Wash garment according to the label directions and in the hottest water recommended. Be sure to use a laundry detergent with enzymes, such as Tide or All, to break down the proteins in the vomit.
Once you've washed the sleepwear, check it for any remaining stains. If there are any spots left behind, repeat steps 2 and 3 until they're gone.
Once you have removed the vomit stain, dry the clothing in the dryer on the lowest setting. Even if the stain is gone, over-drying can cause the proteins in the vomit to set, so be sure to keep an eye on garment as it's drying.
