What You'll Need

  • Cold Water
  • White Vinegar
  • Dish Soap
  • Cotton Swabs or Cloth
  • Baking Soda
  • Iron

Step One: Blot Up the Stain

First, use a clean cloth or cotton swab to blot up as much of the vomit stain as possible. Do not rub the stain, as this may cause it to spread and set deeper into the fabric.

Step Two: Rinse with Cold Water

Next, rinse the stained area with cold water. This will help to dilute vomit and make it easier to remove.

Step Three: Use a Solution of Vinegar and Dish Soap

Mix together equal parts white vinegar and dish soap. Dip a clean cloth or cotton swab into the solution and gently dab the stained area until vomit is gone. If necessary, you can also use a soft-bristled brush to help loosen and remove the vomit.

Step Four: Sprinkle with Baking Soda

Once the vomit has been removed, sprinkle a small amount of baking soda onto affected area. Allow the baking soda to sit for several hours before vacuuming it up.

Step Five: Iron the Garment

Finally, Iron the garment on low heat to help set the stain and remove any lingering odors.
