When dealing with vomit stains on clothing, it's important to address them as soon as possible. The longer they remain on the fabric, more challenging they can become to remove. Here is a step-by-step guide to cleaning vomit off silk crepe de chine:
Gently blot affected area of the fabric with a clean white cloth or paper towels to absorb as much liquid as possible. Be careful not to rub or scrub fabric, as this will only spread the mess and potentially damage the delicate fabric.
Rinse the stain with cool, running water. If the stain is still visible afterwards, repeat this process until the stain lightens considerably.
Apply a pre-wash stain remover directly onto the stain and leave for at least 30 minutes. Make sure to follow the instructions on the product packaging.
Wash garment as normal using a gentle washing machine cycle and cold water. Use a mild detergent formulated for delicate fabrics.
If there are still traces of the stain remaining, apply a small amount of mild enzyme detergent directly onto the stained area. Gently massage into the fabric, leave for 10 minutes, then rinse with cold water. Once again, make sure to check care instructions before use.
