Once you spot the vomit stain, use a paper towel or a cloth to blot up as much of it as possible. Do not rub the area in a circular motion, as this may cause stain to spread further.
Mix together a solution of one tablespoon of mild dishwashing soap and two cups of lukewarm water. You can also use silk detergent if you have it on hand. Dip a clean cloth into the mixture and then apply it to the stain. Let sit for 5 minutes, then rinse with cold water.
Fill a basin or sink with cold water and add a few drops of dishwashing soap. Submerge the stained portion of the fabric into the soapy water and gently work the stain with your hands. It’s important to be gentle with silk, as it can tear easily. Rinse the fabric with cold water.
Gently squeeze out excess water and hang the fabric up to dry in a cool, dry place. Avoid direct sunlight which can fade the fabric’s color.
Once the fabric is dry, use a cotton swab to gently apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol to the affected area. The alcohol should help remove any remaining traces of the stain.
