What You'll Need

  • Cold water
  • Mild detergent
  • Woolite or another gentle fabric cleaning solution
  • Clean rags
  • White vinegar
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Baking soda

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. As soon as possible, rinse affected garment in cold water, taking care to flush away any remaining vomit particles.
  2. Mix together 1 teaspoon of mild detergent and 4 cups of cold water in a small bowl.
  3. If the stain is still visible, add 1 tablespoon of Woolite or another gentle fabric cleaning solution.
  4. Use a clean rag to apply the cleaning solution to the affected area and gently scrub in a circular motion.
  5. Allow the solution to sit for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Rinse affected area with cold water to remove the solution.
  7. Prepare a mixture of 1/2 cup white vinegar, 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide, and 2 tablespoons baking soda in a small bowl.
  8. Using a clean rag, apply the mixture to the affected area and scrub gently in a circular motion.
  9. Allow the mixture to sit for 15-20 minutes.
  10. Rinse the affected area with cold water one more time.
  11. Allow the garment to air dry, and inspect for any remaining vomit stains.
  12. Repeat the steps as needed until the stain has been fully removed.
