What You'll Need

  • Cold water
  • Mild laundry detergent
  • Oxygen bleach
  • White vinegar
  • Clean cloths
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Paper towels

Step 1: Rinse Stain with Cold Water

The first step to removing vomit stain is to rinse it immediately with cold water, which should help to remove some of the mess. Be sure to use cold water only, as hot or warm water will cause the proteins in the vomit to bond to the fabric.

Step 2: Soak the Scarf

Next, create a cleaning solution using mild laundry detergent, oxygen bleach, and white vinegar. Mix the ingredients together and submerge the stained scarf in the solution for at least 30 minutes. This will help to loosen the vomit stains from the fabric.

Step 3: Scrub the Stain

After soaking, use a clean cloth to scrub the vomit stain. You may need to repeat the process a few times to get rid of the stain completely.

Step 4: Rinse with Rubbing Alcohol

Once the stain has been removed, use a cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol to rinse off the scarf. This will help to get rid of any remaining bacteria that may have been left behind.

Step 5: Blot Dry with Paper Towels

Finally, use paper towels to blot the scarf dry. Place the paper towels over the stained area and press down gently to absorb any excess moisture. Let the scarf air dry after blotting and your scarf should be good as new!
