- Remove Any Solids: It's important to remove any solid material left on the robe quickly, as this will make it much easier to get rid of stain. Use a spoon or knife to scrape away as much of the vomit as possible.
- Dab with a Clean Towel: Once you've removed any solids, douse a clean towel with cold water and gently dab affected area. This will help to soak up any excess liquid. Remember: you want to keep area as damp as possible.
- Wash with a Mild Detergent: Next, add one tablespoon of mild detergent to a bowl of cool water and stir until the detergent is completely dissolved. Dip the soiled portion of the robe into the mixture and allow it to soak for at least 10 minutes. Then, rinse robe in cold water.
- Apply White Vinegar: If the stain persists, mix one part white vinegar and one part cool water in a bowl and submerge robe in the mixture. Let it soak for at least 15 minutes before rinsing the robe in cool water.
- Soak in Borax: If the stain still won't budge, combine 1/4 cup of Borax with one liter of warm water in a bucket. Submerge the robe in the solution and let it sit for several hours before washing in a regular cycle.
- Spot Treat with Baking Soda: For tough stains that just won't go away, make a paste with two parts baking soda and one part water. Spot-treat the affected area with paste, let it sit for 30 minutes, then rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary.
With a bit of patience and these eco-friendly techniques, you'll be able to remove any vomit stains from your robe in no time.
