What You Will Need

  • Dishwashing liquid or laundry detergent
  • Bucket filled with warm water
  • Clean cloths or sponges

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Begin by blotting up as much of the vomit as possible. Use a clean cloth or paper towels to absorb the moisture from the fabric. If possible, rinse the vomit off with cool, running water to flush out any lingering residue.

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain

Mix a solution of one part dishwashing liquid or laundry detergent and four parts warm water in a bucket. Dip a cloth or sponge into solution and use it to pre-treat the stain. Rub the cloth over the stain in a gentle, circular motion. Once the area is saturated, let the solution sit for 5 minutes.

Step 3: Rinse and Repeat

Rinse the solution off with cool, running water. Blot up any excess moisture with a clean cloth. Repeat Steps 1, 2 and 3 until the stain is gone or until you are satisfied with the results.
