Step 1: Blotting the Stain

Take a few paper towels and blot the vomit stain on your polo shirt as much and as quickly as possible. This will help remove as much vomit as possible and will also stop the stain from becoming embedded in the fabric.

Step 2: Test the Fabric

Before taking any further steps, be sure to test the fabric of your shirt by swabbing a small amount of cleaning solution in an inconspicuous area. If any discoloration occurs, do not proceed as the cleaning solution may not be appropriate for the fabric.

Step 3: Rinse with Water

Quickly rinse the vomit stain with cold water until the water is running clear and the stain is beginning to fade. Then, apply a spot cleaner to the area and gently work it into fabric using a scrub brush or a soft-bristled toothbrush.

Step 4: Scrub and Soak

Allow the solution to sit for a few minutes and then scrub the area with a brush to further remove the stain. Once you have finished scrubbing, rinse the area with cold water and let it soak for several hours. Once it has finished soaking, rinse area again with cold water.

Step 5: Wash and Dry

When stain is completely gone, wash the polo shirt on the gentle cycle and dry on lowest heat setting. Be sure to inspect the shirt for any remaining stains before putting away garment.
