How to Quickly & Effectively Remove Vomit Stains from Peau de Soie

What You'll Need

  • Paper towels
  • A mild detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Borax
  • Water

Instructions

  1. Gently blot the stain with paper towels to remove any excess vomit.
  2. Mix 1 tablespoon of a mild detergent in 2 cups of warm water and stir until it forms suds.
  3. Apply sudsy mixture to the affected area and lightly scrub it with a sponge.
  4. Rinse off any residue by blotting it with a clean, damp cloth.
  5. To further remove the stain, make a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water.
  6. Apply this solution to stain and scrub it lightly with a sponge.
  7. Rinse the area with a clean cloth.
  8. Make a paste of 3 parts Borax and 1 part water and apply it to stain.
  9. Allow paste to sit for about 20 minutes then rinse it off using cold water.
  10. Finally, wash the area as you normally would with a mild detergent.

Tips

  • Be sure to test a small, inconspicuous area of the fabric before applying any cleaning solution.
  • It may take several attempts to completely remove a vomit stain from Peau de Soie.
