Step 1: Blot Liquid Stains

Begin by blotting away any excess liquid from vomit stain. Avoid rubbing the fabric together, as this may spread the stain. Blot using a dry, white cloth.

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain

Create a cleaning solution by mixing one tablespoon of white vinegar and two tablespoons of dishwashing detergent with one quart of warm water. Dip a white towel in the mixture and pat the fabric. Gently rub the pre-treated area with the towel, then rinse with a damp cloth dipped in clean lukewarm water.

Step 3: Wash the Fabric

Wash the fabric using the gentle cycle on a washing machine. Add a mild detergent and a cup of white vinegar to the load. Avoid using bleach or other harsh chemicals.

Step 4: Dry Fabric

Allow the fabric to air dry away from direct sunlight. If possible, lay it out flat on a clothing rack. Never use an automatic dryer, as heat can cause fabrics to shrink.
